This didn't get much of a write up in other reviews elsewhere. However, I must have been lucky as I saw great reef life including seahorses. Not much big stuff though. Need to go deeper to avoid the worst of the swell.
Beware exit and entry as the swell from the reef is considerable.

Wreck of a little open vessel (maybe 15 m in length) lying on sandy bottom. Lots of fishes in and about the wreck. Abundantly lionfish, scorpionfish etc. Near the wreck there is a community of garden eels. Good for photgraphy.
There is no buouy or any other marker so this divesite is hard to find without local knowledge. The wreck is visible from surface once you are on top of it.

Heavy stuff!
Going in, when the tide is pulling out the water of the lagoon and flying at a speed of 5-10miles/hour heading for the open sea.
You feel like diving in a washing machine and you have to work hard to keep control between the rocks! A lot of stinray, eagleray, grey reefsharks and bullsharks in rather bad sight. You suddenly dash into groups of sharks and a moment later you have passed them, hard to imagine what you have just seen.
Passe St. Jacques is also known as Washing Machine.
#54 - Sirius Wreck
Mauritius, Mahebourg
intermediate
(0)
HMS Sirius was a 36-gun fifth-rate frigate of the Royal Navy. The Admiralty ordered her construction on 30 April 1795, and the keel was laid at the Dudman's yard in Deptford in September of that year. She was launched on 12 April 1797. The Sirius Class (1795) was established following the taking of the San Fiorenzo from the Spanish in 1794, upon whose lines this frigate was based.
Today the Sirius lies in some 20-25 metres of water, and although the wreck has been broken up, as much by salvors as by her unfortunate scuttling, the site is of great archaeological interest, with many of the cannon lying exposed. Source: Wikipedia.org
Sirius Wreck is also known as Sirius.
#55 - La passe de Belle Mare
Mauritius

You can dive from the lagoon and let you drift to the pass to finish your dive in the ocean.
In the pass, you will see big fishes like tunas, barraccudas or sharks.
There is a lot of current. Stay deep at the beginning. Choose the areas where you want to stop (some large holes deeper protects you from the current and let you have a nice view to the fishes).
I saw my first grey coral shark (2,5m) there.
All the sites have been named by a passionate diver well known in Mauritius Ben Cadet since 1990 when he first open his dive centre at hotel Ambre.
By boat. From the public beach in front of the Diving Center at the Emeraude Hotel. You can see "la passe" from the beach: where there is no wave!
La passe de Belle Mare is also known as La passe.
