The pool is 72 ha. This is like a labyrint with tunnels. Take care cos the viz may become poor due to the turbulentie caused by bubbles.
The Gaasperplas is a sandpit of 72 ha. peat blocks are left at the bottom of the pit after the removal of the sand.
At some places there are enough peat blocks close next to each other to form an underwater labyrinth consistent of tunnels and corrieros.
Due to these formations you have to be careful. The view is not always clear and the sand troubles the visibility. Therefore you could end up under one of the overhanging peat blocks. Some of those are actually quite unstable and could be moved or collapse by air bubbles or swimming movements.
From A9, take direction weesp. Follow S113 'loosdrechtdreef'. Turn right into N236 'provincialeweg'. After 700 m turn right again direction driemond. Park at the parking spot and walk a short distance (50m) to the entrance (marked 'onderwatersport')
