#1 - Com Beach
East Timor, Los Palos
This dive site hosts a giant clam at around 18 meters. It requires a guide to find as it is well camouflaged by the surrounding reef and is well embedded in the coral. There are many fish here and once at 20 meters there are forests of purple soft corals covering the bottom.
Only 5-10 minute drive from Com town towards the west on the main road. You must turn off and drive towards the beach to avoid having to walk with your gear. There are shade trees where one can park and gear up.
The shore entry is sandy and gradual. The reef takes a little swim to get to but it is not strenuous.
