About Davy Jones Diving

If you are looking for the best place to go SCUBA diving in Gran Canaria, then you should look at this PADI 5-Star Dive Centre. It is the closest dive centre to the El Cabrón Marine Reserve in Arinaga, Gran Canaria. This area is a marine-life hotspot with endangered angel sharks, rays, morays, and a full spectrum of Canarian life from seahorses and nudibranhcii up to the small population of protected Spiny Pufferfish. Being next to one of the best and most spectacular dive sites in the Canary Islands means that they have some fantastic dives and great fun as their knowledgeable dive leaders and instructors lead you through this fabulous treasure-trove of marine life. Their dive shop in Arinaga features a large private garden to prepare for the dives to give you the most comfortable and enjoyable exploration of this amazing divesite.

🌐 Davy Jones Diving is the closest dive centre to the El Cabrón Marine Reserve, in the quiet local town of Arinaga. Their instructors dive there every day so can show you all the little secrets and special sites to make every dive a special.

As the dive centre is only a few minutes drive from the best dive sites on the Island you can explore different environments and marine habitats in the Marine Reserve at El Cabrón. They  are so close that you return to the centre after each dive where you can chill out between dives and use the toilet, grab a cup of tea or coffee or plan your next dive in comfort.

It is regarded by many as the best place to dive in Gran Canaria as it has four of the top ten dives in Gran Canaria, and was described by PADI as one of 'Three Incredible World-wide Marine Reserves'. It is the only area in Gran Canaria where you can easily dive in caverns and caves.

With their intimate local knowledge they will show you more of the secrets - this the only place where divers can regularly see endangered species such as Spiny Pufferfish, Barred Hogfish and Caribbean Soldierfish, as well as triggerfish, angel sharks and five types of stingray.

They run PADI courses in small personalised groups, so you can learn to dive in a huge natural aquarium with all the colourful fish such as wrasse and parrotfish and damselfish around you .

🚐 The centre is about 20 minutes from the main tourist hotels in the South of the Island and they offer a free minibus service to bring you to the reserve.

🐙 There are over ten different dive routes in the marine reserve, including easy 'chill dives' at 8-14m with lots of marine life; good recreational dives at around 18-20m which suit all Open Water or 1-star divers; and more challenging explorations for more qualified divers including a dive down to 30m to see the local field of corals.

Some of the routes are only known or dived on a regular basis by their instructors, so they can show you lots of little highlights that other schools are unaware of. With this diversity they vary the dive routes, and adjust the plans to suit the experience levels and weather conditions on a daily basis.

🤿 If you are looking for somewhere to take a diving course, then the El Cabrón Reserve is an excellent choice, as there are a lot of different areas which suit different stages or parts of training. You always get to see lots of different marine life, even on introductory dives. They keep class sizes and ratios small so that everyone gets individual attention from their highly qualified instructors.

🏡 In December 2013 they moved into a unique and spacious new dive centre, Casa Limon. Casa Limon is situated in a small private tropical garden, and has set a new standard for the facilities offered by Canarian dive centres.

They have a range of sitting/relaxing areas both in the shade and sun, and this space lets everyone  sit in socially distanced 'bubbles'.  All preparations take place in the open air including setting up equipment, and the centre team work hard to keep the COVID virus out of the centre.

When you visit the garden you will probably  love the peace and tranquillity that this brings to the diving day, whilst preparing for your dive and during the dive interval.

🏆 They have won several awards and been recognised by a variety of different organisations for their commitment to safe and enjoyable excursions and courses.

They won PADI's top award, the PADI Outstanding Achievement award in 2018, and their commitment to excellent customer service also ensured entry into the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame for gaining a Certificate of Excellence every year from 2014 to 2019.

They are the oldest professional dive centre in Arinaga, members of ANETA, the Spanish association of Adventure Sports, and are approved by the Canarian Government with registration number NR-35-1-0002592.
