About Us
PADI, headquartered in Santa Ana, USA, is a professional scuba diving educational institution founded in 1966, and has international activities with branches in seven major countries around the world. Divemasters and above can become members, and there are 60,000 divers who fall under this category. PADI's 2,500 dive centers and 400 PADI resorts are spread out in 170 countries around the world, minimizing the discomfort of PADI divers wherever they go. PADI, nicknamed the dinosaur of the diving world, issued 657,000 certificates in 1997, accounting for 52-57% of the world's educational share, and boasts a 74% share in the United States. The goal is to provide scientific and safe education and training so that the general public can participate in safe underwater activities, and to promote enjoyable underwater activities through step-by-step continuous training.
