Water is the fundamental element of life. In the human body it occupies 65% of the body weight and on Earth the liquid element has a dominant position since it covers 71% of the surface. Man's love and attraction for "water" and the sea in general is completely justified. The physiology of the human organism and the environment, which originates, grows and matures, universally confirms its "eternal thirst" for its frequent interactive contact with water. Water brings purification and purifies body and spirit. The “MEDITERRANEAN DIVE CENTER” (MDC) perfectly meets the need of the aforementioned thirst in all recreational spectrums, educational levels and technological achievements related to the wet element. It has been awarded by PADI the highest distinction title (5 star IDC CENTER) for a standard diving center. It is ISO:9001/2008 certified for learning/training and materials maintenance services. The seat of the MDC is Kastela in Piraeus. Its founder is Mr. Christos Pozidis. Retired Navy officer. He served in the Underwater Disaster Unit as a frogmen trainer from 1973 to 1989. He invested endless personal time and financial resources to be able to change the image of the diving world in Greece. Many developments and innovations in the Greek area bear his stamp (legislative regulation 2005, etc.). The MDC has a multidisciplinary presence and is universally supported by the integrity of the professional body in diving events inside and outside the business arena. The visitor has the opportunity in a beautifully designed exhibition space, which functions as a store, to see the diving equipment and accessories he wants in physical presence in display cases. He can try/wear them in a discreet air-conditioned room and buy or rent them with all compatible financial payment methods. There is a school licensed by PADI offering all levels of recreational and technical diving diplomas-certifications. It has a classroom well equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia equipment (computers, video projector, 62” wide-angle flat screen TV, multiformat digital disc player, etc.), high-speed broadband internet access and educational materials (books, publications, university research, digital discs, etc.) for the theoretical training of prospective scuba divers. The human resources (trainers) are constantly updated and upgraded with the aim of improving the services provided and thoroughly for its contagiousness. MDC maintains a state-of-the-art laboratory for the maintenance, repair and support of diving equipment. It has state-of-the-art air compressors for fast and safe bottle filling (NITROX and TRIMIX system). Certified with a license as a legal representative from the largest diving equipment sales and manufacturing companies in the world (SCUBAPRO-UWATEC, SOPRAS SUB, DUI, SUEX and VIKING). MDC undertakes professional technical - research projects at an international level. It has the correspondingly qualified human resources to carry out and complete each contract with absolute success. Over the years, approximately 4,000 thousand people have been certified by the MDC. A club was formed with members of the graduate divers. Of course it is also open to people who are not certified here. It functions as a meeting place for participation in diving trips in Greece and abroad. One-day excursions are created in the event that there is not plenty of time in diving spots within Attica (wrecks, etc.). The Club is a magnet for the fulfillment of the appropriate anxiety-provoking entertainment, with a special and unique diverse character and many themed escapes. Attuned to the imperatives of the modern era, it provides human-centric services for the universal pleasure and total satisfaction of the security-oriented member. The noticeable difference is that it is not for a certain caste of high-income people, but for everyone, regardless of standard of living, gender and age. Participating in the club's activities produces a process that touches all the human senses, sharpening their receptive capacity to the fullest for the ultimate sense of travel in the multi-disciplinary soul training of the scuba diver. The successful combination of friendly warm atmosphere, safety, satisfaction, low-cost entertainment, and perspective, promotes the daily search for lifestyle. In the uncertain world that man lives in, MDC promotes and "sells" the certainty of a sweet long-hour escape from it!!! Security in any MDC activity, whether professional or recreational, has the leading role because it is the cheapest and most effective insurance policy. Actions in prevention dominate in relation to suppression applications. Insurance is not cheap but invaluable. When someone notices a third party's mistake and does not correct it, it immediately becomes his own mistake and bears responsibility. Security procedures often become boring. It is better for a diver to lose a minute of his life than to lose his life in a minute. When he plays it safe it is a given that he is betting his life and the lives of others around him. Tomorrow is the reward for operating safely today because accidents do not happen but are caused. The safest risk is the one he didn't take!!!!!
