About Us

Nakia Resort & Dive opened its own in-house water sports program when we - Julie Kelly, the owners' daughter, and partner Aaron Mell - moved to Fiji from Hawaii. We offer the most comprehensive dive and water sports services available on Taveuni through our company, Taveuni Ocean Sports at Nakia.

We invite divers to join us for the best scuba diving in Fiji - a short boat ride from Nakia - on the Rainbow Reef across the Somosomo Strait. Jean-Michel Cousteau described the Rainbow Reef as "the soft coral capital of the world" and Scuba Diver magazine rated the White Wall as one of the top ten dive spots in the world.

The tidal current and constant year-round water temperature of the Strait create an ideal environment for hard and soft coral and marine creatures such as anemones, reef fish, turtles and eels. We look forward to introducing new and experienced divers to the glorious waters surrounding Nakia, with nearly 1500 kinds of fish and 300 species of coral - many unique to Fiji. We welcome guests from every resort on the island.
