Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Black Hole
The entrance to the cavern is 40ft deep, an oval hole approximately 8ft wide and 20ft long. Smim vertically through the black hole entrance and once your eyes have become accustomed to the darkness you realise you are in a huge dome. Below is sand which is at 110ft and is a pyramid made up of all the material that has dropped through the entrance. Explore the dark edges of the cavern and you can find stalagtites. You may see sharks in the hole and stingrays on the bottom. By exploring the walls, swim you can find stalagtites and overhangs. The magical aura of this site makes it one of the premiere dive sites of central Belize. Lights are necessary and dive computers are recomended. Exit the cave and the explore the small patch reef by the entrance which is home to atlantic spade fish, horse eye jacks and cobia.
A cavern that is located about 8 miles east of Dangriga Town.
Black Hole is also known as Shark Cave.
