East Blue Lake

East Blue is a good place for training dives, with open water checkouts occurring there frequently. It is a lengthy drive from all larger cities. It doesn't see many divers at any particular time, but boat traffic from campers or weekenders can be significant. Visibility is usually around 30 feet and there is good drop off from the treeline access point. The bottom is silt/sand so it can be stirred up. Camping in the area is good with a convenience store and gas station. Freshwater spearfishing is good. Check provincial regulations first. Take Highway 83 north from Roblin, Manitoba. At San Clara, turn right onto grid road # 367. Follow gravel road #367, 47.5 km to #366. Turn left and proceed only 1.5 km. and you are there. Dive site access is either to the left just past the docks, or at the treeline just at the end of the beach to the right.
