Sugar wreck is an old sailing ship that sank while carrying sugar from the Caribbean.

Many Yellow Stingrays, Southern Stingrays, pufferfish and lots of crabs live on this wreck. It is also known for it's resident Loggerhead Turtle that is frequently adorned by Remoras.

Sugar Wreck

Located an hour’s boat ride from the West End of Grand Bahama, this small, shallow sand flat is arguably one of the best places in the world to dive with tiger sharks. Sightings are reliable and conditions consistent, providing excellent photography opportunities year-round. Shark-fishing is prohibited in the Bahamas, meaning that these awesome predators are fully protected and currently thriving in the waters around the island chain. 

While shark diving Tiger Beach is undoubtedly the highlight of a dive trip to the Bahamas, this shouldn’t detract from healthy reef systems packed with life, and the warm, clear waters that make diving Tiger Beach and the rest of the Bahamas a true pleasure.

Ben's Cavern is a sinkhole part of a very wide underwater cave system. Ben's is the easiest cavern dive.

At about 9-10m deep is the thermocline: 24°C for the fresh water, approx 29°C for the salted water.

Normally Ben's is closed in the summer because migratory bats nest there. An additional $10 entrance fee is charged by the Lucayan National Park.

This 230 feet long vessel was built in Norway in 1954. It was intentionally sunk october 16, 1982. She now lays on her port side on a flat sandy floor, not far from few isolated coral banks.

SW of Grand Bahama island: just W of Silver Point and E of Xanadu Beach, about 1.5 miles off the coast. Two permanent buoys mark the ship's position (one at the bow and one at the stern).

This 172 foot freighter was sunk in April 2002 in 93 feet of water.  Upon sinking it was upright and intact.  2004 & 2005 saw hurricanes that moved and rearranged the wreck, demonstrating the awesome power of the ocean.
