Thumb Rock

Thumb Rock is an excellent reef dive, often overlooked in favour of nearby "Wreck Alley". A large thumb shaped rock above the water is mirrored by a large thumbed shaped pinnacle below the water. The site is on the tip of Cooper Island; although it is sheltered from the waves and the currents, it is still somtimes possible to see large pelagic ocean going fish swimming by. By boat only. Dive site is approximately 4 minutes from Coooper Island beach, or about 25 minutes from Road Town, Tortola. Mooring balls have been affixed to the site by the National Parks trust. Thumb Rock is also known as Markoe Point.
