Black Watch

The bow of the wreck is crushed, but the rear somewhat intact. You can penetrate and see the engines. The rudder and the propeller is suspended in free water at 35 meters depth, as the rear end hangs ove an drop-off. Best dived at high tide. The marine life surrounding the wreck is fantastic.

There is usually buoy on the wreck.

DS Flint

Wreck of the biggest German ship (with Bismarck) of WWII. 
Rest in available depth, next to the shore, 235 meters of huge surprising metal.

The wreck of the tugboat 200 ton Sud America VIII is found from 10-20 meters depth. The wreck is broken in two pieces, but in a relatively good condition despite the age and the explosion that must have occurred when she went down. Both the bridge and the chimney can still be seen by the wreck. As the tidal currents in the region are strong, the dive site is exposed to heavy current, and the visibility can from time to time be quite poor. But with the rights conditions the visibility can be very good, especially during the winter.

A bit north of Tromso city.

Sud America VIII

Beautiful diving spot near big waterfall.
Lots of plants near the shore where it's some 2-3 m deep. Then deep wall down...don't know how far; at 25m I could see it go down to at least 50m.
Small drift where the waterfall comes to sea.

Rest place by road. Some 50 m walk downhill path to beach where it's easy to enter water.

Icredible clear lake water, visibility up to 30 meters. Not much to see actually, unless interested on rock formations or strange things that people have abandoned to sea.

Easy access from Sauna beach that is not in use any more. 15m from car park to water.

The marine life is excellent, although it's the drift in the strong tidal current which is the main thrill.

Dive only from a boat following the divers, which at least the pair should have a buoy to the surface during the entire dive. There is a lot of traffic here, even by large ships.

Raftsundet

British cargo ship: weight (tons): 1594 grt  
Dimensions: 79.9 x 13.7 x 6.4 m 
which went down in 1975.
The wreck is in three parts and requires fair weather for diving.

Gallic Stream 

The German steamship Hamburg went down during the Allied attack against the Lofoten  in March 4, 1941, called Operation Claymore. Several installations and buildings were destroyed around the Lofoten islands under this combined attack by the British and a small group of Norwegian soldiers. It is estimated that nine ships were sunk. The MS Hamburg anchored in the port of Svolvaer, when a group of Allied soldiers attack the ship with heavy weapons. After several grenades exploding on the deck the German crew began to abandon the damaged ship. Two men of the German crew opened the bottom vents, and soon after the MS Hamburg disappear down in the depths. That the British sunk the ship as it is often being said is just propaganda. During Operation Claymore, it is believed that ships of a tonnage of 18,000 tons were sunk. The wreck of Hamburg is currently at six to twenty-five meters in the industrial port of Svolvaer, well intact where it rests on the starboard side. The wreck is easily accessible from shore.
