Very good to see big fishes like groupers. Good to deep diving too. You can see big soft corals like Elisella species and slipper lobsters.
The name of this site it's a tribute to an old lighthouse man who lived for a while on the island. Next to the Baía do Farol, with similar features. The depth starts at 8 meters and grows until 28 meters, next to the limit between the Saco do Vidal and the Baia do Farol. With rare biodiversity, it's the place in where some recently described fishes to the Arvoredo's marine fauna has been saw for the first time. In november and december is easy to find big rays.
By boat, 1h and 30 minutes from Canto Grande.

This site has a fund formed by stones and its average depth is about 16 meters. Is the closest site to the continent of the entire reserve. The visibility is not too good and the diving conditions are almost always bad. The place has almost no shelter and the current is constant. Most of the fauna is represented by big fishes as Meros and Garoupas, passing fishes and big shoals.
#8 - Parcel de Boi

One of the better dive sites on the south side of the island. The site starts on the tip of Saco do Capim, near 10 meters deep. The site ends (to the southwest) near 22 meters deep. You can find rest of some wrecks and a great variety of sea life. Is common to see passing fishes like Olhetes, Anchovas ans big shoals. As in many of the Arvoredo's sites, the encounter with turtles are often frecuent too. Being a site further away from the coast, you have to be aware of the currents from north to south.

Good point for new and experienced divers. Depth 6 to 20 meters. Rocky shore, with some soft corals on the rocks. Good to see big fishes like groupers and turtles.
In the past, here run a sugar factory (in ruins), that served as a shelter to fishermen when the reserve didn't existed yet. Today, the place transformed in an ideal site to train on multilevel diving. It have a shallow part with near 8 meters deep with stones and sand at sight and, in the direction to the lighthouse, you can get until 18 meters deep, in which fishes with bigger size can be found. On this site, there's a special caution to be taken: the strong current uses to drift the divers on the lighthouse direction.
Bombinhas. Access by boat 1h and 30 minutes from Canto Grande Beach.
Baia do Engenho is also known as Engenho.

This point divides the enabled diving area from the Reserve. The formation of stones that forms the fund from the Pedra de Baleia ends here. It is a dive that must be done through the border between the sand and the stones in both the outward and in the back, because the outside is a real labyrinth. Starts up near the island following the path south to reach the tip (approximately 30 minutes trip). It is a fascinating dive with the presence of rays along the sand, Badejos in the heads of stone and Garoupas more among the burrows.

Site also known as Saco de Batismo (Baptism Bay) and therefore is one of the most visited site by diving operators, although it can be surprising even for experimented divers. The rocky bottom forms many small caves in which can be found Frades (Friars) and shoals of cryptic fishes (that lives in burrows). In direction to Saco do Capim, a curiosity: it's easy to find turtles resting or sleeping. To avoid disturbing them, the closest distance to stay is 4 meters away from them.
Recanto do campin is also known as Saco do Batismo.
#16 - Ilha do Campeche

Interesting spot in the Santa Catarina Island. Plenty of sea life (tropical fishes, octopus sponges, corals, etc). There is a trouble thought, a foundation called "Asociación Couto de Magallanes", that in the past used to take care of the island, now limits the access to some diving places in the island (unless you pay them) using the excuse that they are archeological places but they are not.
By boat from "praia do Armação". Local fishermen take tourist to the island. Once in the island you can access the different diving places on foot or swimming (the island is quite small).
Ilha do Campeche is also known as Campeche Island.
