Top Scuba Dive Shops in Essex
#1 - Dive Odyssea
We have a reputation for offering the highest quality courses, dive trips, weekends away, holidays and Club activities. We're often told that we are the friendliest Dive Centre in Essex, a fact that we are proud of and work hard to live up to.
Dive Odyssea is based close to Southend on Sea in Essex and has been an active Dive Centre Since 1996. We have very experienced and patient staff who guide students thorough the whole range of PADI courses we offer. We have a great mix of male and female staff who offer a wealth of knowledge at all our locations.
We generally train two nights during the week and some weekends at local pools. We offer flexible time tables. Our customers range from 8 to 80 years and share a common bond; the love and passion for Scuba Diving. We have an active dive club. We dive all year round to destinations in the UK as well as running trips overseas.
We also meet regularly socially. Non divers are welcome on our trips and at our socials. We provide equipment retail, rental and servicing. We also run First Aid Courses and offer Scuba Parties for the younger dive enthusiasts as well as offering snorkelling tasters to those coming through our doors to purchase masks, fins and snorkels.
#2 - Orca Scuba Diving Academy
Scuba Diving Lessons and Courses are our business and being one of the leading PADI 5 Star IDC (Instructor Development Centre) in Essex, we feel we have a lot to offer anybody looking to try scuba diving or further their scuba diving journey, especially if you live in Essex. Based in Basildon in Essex, at the Underwater Film Studio, we have first class service available to all of our students. We have pools of varying depths available to us and our fully stocked shop is next door to a 6m heated pool.
Many individuals with physical disabilities are able to participate fully in diving using the PADI system of certification and for those that are not able to complete a full Open Water course the door is still wide open.
The International Association for Handicapped Divers (IAHD) is a diving association, which focuses on providing the means for those with physical disabilities who wish to become scuba divers.
Orca is proud to have two fully qualified Instructors, Bruce Pearce and Gary Aldridge who have trained with IAHD to provide a range of underwater activities to those with serious physical disabilities. They also train others to form part of a team to assist disabled divers and make sure the experience is the best that it can be.
SO if you are disabled and want to experience the thrill of weightlessness and the freedom to enjoy the underwater world or if you are already a carer and want to get involved come and speak to Orca.
