Looking seaside there are two reefs going down to 60m. At the left one (south-west corner) in 30m is a cave/crack going inside the skeludi for about 8-10m. Not so easy to find and deep. Skeloudi Island is also known as Bobby Rock.

Rescue ship "Mimis", with Piraeus ship register number 805 of class A, DDS SVGF, a volume of 276 gross registered tonnage and 53 net registered tonnage, a length of 133 feet, constructed in 1888 at the shipyard of J. Readhead and co. of Soutshields, Scotland, owned by Stringos S.A. It was functioning with a three-cylinder reciprocating engine with 101 ΝΗΡ. "Mimis", having as captain Nicolaos Kiafas or Giafis and a 27-member crew (15 men from Merchant Navy and 12 from Hellenic Navy) on 28 March 1941 crashed into a mine at the area of Tourlos, Aegina and 23 of 27 passengers died. The auxiliary ship "Mimis", with commander on board the reservist midshipman Elias Degiannis, was patrolling the north side of Tourlos-Fleva barrier since 20.00 until 8.00 of the next day. During the night of 28 to 29 March 1941, it was the second time that it was patrolling. Its speed was 5 knots. Its route from Aegina was 060 and during its return from there it had a direction to the right. That night the visibility was very good and the sea was calm. At about 00.30 on 29 March 1941, the ship starting from Aegina had a route 060. During the patrol, there were look-outs on the bow and stern for the sea control. The rescued Elias Degiannis mentions that he heard a wooden sound without moving the ship while he was seating on a chair in captain's room. After a while, in front of the bridge, he saw flames coming up and the deck was falling apart. He dropped in the sea, took off his uniform and swam to the rescue boat while he was hearing the others calling for help. On the rescue boat, 5 shipwrecked people embarked and the chief petty officer mister Papadakis died at the hospital. The ship sunk in 3 minutes. The rescued shipwrecked people were collected after several hours by the torpedo ship "Aigli" close to the area Fleva. During the explosion and sinking of "Mimis" died 23 human beings. Its maximum depth is 79 meters (propeller) and its minimum is 70 meters (deck). The bow is totally cut off by the crash – explosion of the mine. The Avantis III was a 79m long vessel build in 1977. She sunk November 19th, 2004. The wreck lies on its port side; the bow is 18m deep and the propeller at 41m deep. The stern port side is near 47m. Southern side of Dorusa Island.

Alternative entry/exit point in Kalypso Cretan Village. Check carefully waves before entering and wathever your experience is, please DO NOT TRY TO EXIT there when wavy : the rock configuration and stairs make it really dangerous for anyone and his equipment !! Be careful with slippery ramps by the swimming pool. - to East side Possibility to exit the water in the bay, passing by a shallow (5-10m) 'white rocks' area (very colorful) then big boulders area and drop offs. - to West side: An 'Eiffel Tower' at 8m made out of junk too heavy (lazy) to take out. Interesting overhang rock 10m. Short shallow cavern. Wonderful cracks/overhang 25-40m. Boulders area. Few remains of an antique wreck (to be guided, very hard to find by oneself). - to South Gentle slope with small Posidonia fields 'secondary' entry/exit place which is located on the back of the swimming pool (that exit practicable only at calm sea). The stairs drop directly on a gentle slope of rocks and posidonia fields. Yet another seascape leading us to a shallow cavern that used to be home of a monk seal. From the darker end of the cavern we can enjoy the beautiful blue light coming in. - Further west is similar to the Swimtroughs Area only in the general plateau/drop off walls configuration : No swimtrough here but the wall feature one fantastic OverHang at 35m, covered with yellow anemones, coral, sponges and decorated outside by long forgotten fishing nets. The plateau offers interesting rocks shapes and for the easy breathers, even an antique Wreck with remains of bulk green glass and amphori as well as a few unidentified parts of the ship. Direction "Kalypso Cretan Village" Kalypso - Back of Swimming Pool is also known as Glass Wreck, Eiffel Tower, Corner Cavern.

Dive on a very new volcanic island (it last erupted in 1956) in the center of an old exploded volcano, who's caldera is open the sea. There isn't a lot of life, but the water is clear, and there are some quite interesting lava formations here. The bottom in the crater drops away to hundreds of meters... The 34 m long steel wreck lies at 13 m in the harbor, and is actually visible below the surface in the Google Maps photo, so it isn't hard to find.

The closest dive site. A very nice dive site for all levels of divers. Starts in a shallow and protected bay, and ends far out, round a big rock, over the surface. Lots of fishes, but in small sizes. They call it also "XL-Aquarium". A very easy, long and shallow dive, usually as the second dive of the day! Keri Peninsula Marathonissi is also known as XL-Aquarium.

Diakopto is also known as Pouda.

Underwater Tunnel - The most interesting tunnel to explore! Starting from the surface, dividing into 3 different smaller tunnels, and with an exit like a butterfly, makes it ideal not only for U/W Photography, but mostly for every Cave Diver "to be"! Many Customers told us, that we should rename this Cave into "Butterfly Cave"! If you exit the tunnel, you enter a reef with a lot of white sand, that is why the site is called White Reef.

The ship was about 30m in length while the width was approximately 7m. It had an iron frame and timber paneling and was brass plated. That which remains until today is a significant amount of the iron skeleton and there also exists a few of the wooden panels that had been destroyed by Teredinidae (Teredo navalis) and other bacteria of the sea have oxidised the copper rendering it fossilised.

A "tropical" looking bay, with fantastic visibility, which is always min.18-20m. Sandy white bottom with nice u/w rock formations, make it ideal for U/W Photography.

Places of interest: Canyons, bluish swimthroughs, wide arches, lots of parrotfish, nunfish, corals, lobsters, moray eels, a British anchor is laying at 18m and parts of unidentified shipwrecks.

On 24th July 1981 the cargo ship Marianna with capacity 2.999 freight tons filled with barley, iron sheets, water pipes – irrigation and fertilizers collided with a reef, now known as Amara, filled with water and sank. The 24 people whom comprised the crew evacuated safely. The ship had been launched from the dock Aaneveming's Bedrij Ijesel of Goringhem in Holland in 1961...

Cavern Paradise!!! A sheltered bay, with 6 caverns, one after the other! Eventually, inhabited by a monk-seal! In most of these Caverns, divers can ascent to the surface, and 2 of them, include a small lake, inside the mountain! Many Sulfur springs in the area, remind their presence, through the "fantastic" smell of Sulfur.

The deepest dive-spot on the island (so far!). Just because it goes deep, it doesn't mean that you have to go deep, if you don't want to! If you follow the wall, there is always big fish in group formations at 25-30m, and at the end of the dive, you can swim through some fantastic tunnels at 16-22m.

Very easy access to the water trough a platform a few cm above sea level. Feeling of free falling between vertical walls and drop off. Diving area from East to West, - From surface to VERY deep : steep Walls partially covered in weeds or sponges and featuring cracks of various shapes and sizes. This is the best area to hope for special encounters from the blue (large tuna, school of jacks, sting ray,...) - The Canyon : 2 vertical walls dropping off on a sandy stripe from 20m to 60m. Remains of a fishing boat lay there nearby an easy and beautiful swimthrough. Since spring 2014 also the wreck of a mini van. - The Kalypso Bay, legendary pirates' hideaway with it's hundreds of comfortable living places for small fish and other creatures. Bottom is made of rocks and boulders on a gentle slope until 20m. The sheltered configuration allows diving almost any day between May and November. We enter the bay mainly trough a tiny "fjord" (0-3m depth) which is obviously a nursery for many species and most probably the richest area animals-wise. So many life forms that the very first or last minutes of any given dive might provide a pleasant surprise. - Just around the west corner of the bay is the Swimtroughs Area : large boulders are shaping a few short tunnels and caves at a maximum depth of 25m. Wide enough and easy to swim trough, those are refuges for lobsters, groupers, breams,... Shallower than those big rocks formations is a Plateau fully covered with algea in which sea urchins, shells, crabs, moray eels and octopuses are hiding. Experienced divers will get to explore the Walls facing the deep blue where it is not rare to spot dentex hunting smaller fish. Under our fins, the first visible sandy ledges at 40m... - This area can be visited also from our 'secondary' entry/exit place which is located on the back of the swimming pool (that exit practicable only at calm sea). Direction "Kalypso Cretan Village" near Plakias Private road access in a resort, usually closed in winter time. There is a Dive Center running all activities from March to November Kalypso Walls is also known as Kalypso Rock's Palace.

It's excellent place for training and fine dives, easy and fast access. The dive site is at the beach of Kipriotis Village Resort, which is about 2km from Kos town.

It's a nice dive at a wall (big rockfield 0-20m). Only by boat. I only know that Creata's Happy Divers make this dive (ok diving center). You can dive from 5m-dark(but afer 20m only sand). Some fishes and lot of dusky grouper (Brauner Zackennarsch). I've never seen so much(min. 10, 50cm-1,50m)! But shy! It's a nice dive for all divers! Have fun!

It's more a wrecksite than a wreck with pices all over the place, but still a nice dive. A huge anchor lies at 25 meters depth, with the anchor chain draped over the reef. Some larger parts of the wreck lie in deeper water. Visibility is usually ok, and the marine life is good as well. The British minesweeper went on a mine Jan 12, 1945.

The cargo vessel Apollonia II built in 1955 hit the reef the 10th of June 1980. Today it offers a very nice dive to both novice and advanced scuba divers. Two of the biggest parts of the ship (the bow and the stern) are lying in relatively shallow water (18-24 m). Combined with the excellent visibility this site offers it's definitely a site worth revisiting. Apollonia II wreck is also known as Apolonia wreck.

The north side of the reef is actually a complex of very big rocks that offer shelter to some very impressive groupers. It a dive for the more experienced divers since the depth reaches 40 meters. At the end of this complex a wall begins from about 35 meters deep giving the chance for a multilevel profile which allows the diver to enjoy the biggest part of the reef. The groupers nest is also known as Nest.

One of our favourite dive sites since you can enjoy any type of diving in this reef. Relaxing shallow dives for the less experienced and exhilarating deeper dives for the more experienced divers Tripiti reef is also known as Makronisos.

20m long tunnel in 8m depth

The M/V Portugal hit the southwest side of the reef.As a result of this collision the ship broke in to two pieces. The biggest of them sunk on the reef. Today one of those pieces of Portugal is lying in a depth of 26 to 40 meters offering another exciting diving spot in the reef. Portugal wreck is also known as Ship wreck Portugal.

15m long tunnel in 12m depth Lindos

One truly beautiful and unique cave beginning from the surface and ending at -20 meters.

In the middle of the gulf many connected caves in 10m depth - almost double bottom.

Romvi Island - the eastern end Romvi Drop Off is also known as Romvi southeast.
