Heavy kelp with not so good viz 2-8 foot. Water was 49 degrees but still a fun dive. Went straight out in the middle and stayed fairly shallow. Saw tons of dungeness crabs including some mating. A bunch of kelp crabs. The biggest sea cucumber I have seen. A tiny jellyfish. And lots of abs.

I went out for a two tank solo to take some pictures today. Water was 49 degrees, viz was 10'-15' in the kelp and 15'-20' in the sand. Lots of fish and crabs out, blue, grass, kelp, calico and black and yellow rockfish. Also coalline sculpin, blackeye goby and speckled sanddab. Kelp crabs, decorator crabs, sheep crab and slender crabs. Also lots of slugs and snails. And a 7'-8' dead sea lion at 28' being reclaimed by dozens of starfish and a sunflower star. I will be posting pictures at my website www.kelpdiving.com.

Got in the water at 8am with a med tide. As I went out the channel on the left side, I was meet by several sea lions and an otter. At 14' to 24' in the middle and on the right side I found one of the nicest kelp canopies I have ever seen. Lots of kelp fish. Saw some big perch in the sand areas. Lots of colors on the rock and pinnacles. Viz was 20'-25'. A very nice dive. Easy parking, no bathrooms. I stopped by Breakwater to wash off my gear. There's some pictures and a dive report @ www.kelpdiving.com

Did two dives at Otters Cove. Good viz, about 25 in the sand. Saw five dolphins right by shore as I was gearing up. Didn't see many animals: Saw a big sheep crab, a hermit crab dragging an empty shell around and a lot of senoritas. There are a few pictures on my website, www.kelpdiving.com Overall it was an OK dive day.

Did a one tank dive. Parked right in front of the shower. Bathrooms were open and clean. Water temp was 50 degrees but felt warmer. Vis was 20 foot once we got past the inside kelp. Didn't see any fish, but we saw Dungeness crabs, big abs and sunstar fish. It was a very easy walk from the parking lot to the water. Small one foot surf. I took pictures and they came out really nice.
