Breyn Fish's Dive Log

My husband and I started out snorkeling on the South side of the pier and it progressed into diving! The first reef starts about 3/4 ways down the pier. It is very shallow with lots of life! The second reef is located due east. It our favorite and still not too deep...just a longer swim. Parking is $10 at the tiny little lot by the pier. There are restaurants and shops nearby for food and water. There is also a dive shop right there called Deep Blue (I think).

8th St in Pompano Beach Directions: Take Atlantic Blvd East, go south on A1A and make a left on 8th St. There are 3 parking meters to park at. There is a shower to rinse gear, too. Located in middle of a bunch of condos... This is a great beginner dive spot. The swim out to the first reef is pretty short in comparison to Lauderdale by the Sea. The first reef is just beyond the swim zone buoy. Swim out on your back just past it and then drop down. The second reef is about 100 yard due east. It has a small but nice ledge with a very decent reef. Forcee dive shop is very close. It is just west of the intracoastal in a strip mall on the south side of Atlantic Blvd. If you pass Flannigan's, you went too far. There is another dive shop by the dock on the east side of the intracoastal, but I don't know the name…
