While visiting St. Thomas on a cruise, I took two afternoon dives on Coki beach. It had been about 1.5 years, so I wanted a slow, relaxed dive. I also prefer beach entry as it is easier for me being a fairly new diver. The folks at Coki Beach Dive Club made it nice and easy for us. There were only 3 of us with the divemaster, and it was a fun, relaxing dive. We saw an octopus, a big grouper, lots of different types of fish - even one we still have yet to figure out what it was. Nice sand beach, clean, easy entry, drops off from about 20 feet to 50 or so with a 45 degree incline. Not a deep dive, but a fun, relaxing dive with LOTS to look at. I'll be diving there again on our next trip. Also: if you go with Coki Beach Dive Club, their prices are very reasonable. One of the best dives I've been on!

I thought this was a really nice, relaxing dive for a newbie like me. This is where I did my first few dives since being certified back in Aug. 2006. We stayed at Breezes, and the Ocean Encounters staff was GREAT! There was plenty to see, even at 20-30 feet. I averaged about 40. Lots of life, fish, coral - a great diversity of things to view. It was just a great experience! Check out my pix at: http://thesolons.com/blog/?page_id=5
