Derek Broussard's Dive Log

I would have to say that this is an extreme shore dive. If you shore dive from the Kahala hotel or beach, it's a good .75 miles or more out. With currents and wind at a nearly constant full force here, this would be a tough dive to do from shore. As far as the wrecks there, five are scattered about and if you start from the most east wreck you can drift down and see all of them. However since this area is raped nightly by commercial fisherman there is hardly any life.

This site is ok, but probably the best thing about diving Ala Moana is its location. Being right in town, it's nice to do on a leisure. The bad side about diving is that almost anywhere from Sand Island to Diamond Head is the huge amount of boat traffic. Some boaters don't understand dive flags.
