Michael Beatty's Dive Log

I have been to Curacao twice in 2008. This was one of my favorite dives in June. The swim out is fine and there is good beginning diving at 45 feet over the reef. The topography and coral were very picturesque and I returned twice. In Nov. 2008, after Hurricane Omar, the coral was covered in sand and almost no fish life. Very demoralizing. We had planned to dive twice at the site but we went elsewhere after the first time down. A secluded spot, you have to pay 10 guilders at the old Land House to get to the beach. The area has three sites.

A beautiful dive with sweeping panoramas - you drop to 95 feet over white sand along a projecting coral spine and slowly work your way up over the top of the reef where there is excellent coral at 40 feet or less. Developed beach with full dive shop, lounging and good restaurant. Spend all day, do 3 dives.
