For a shallow dive, with a possibility of finding some old Coast Guard artifacts, Twin Lights can make for an enjoyable morning.

About 5 miles South of Portland on Route 1, hang a left at Oak Hill onto 114 (Gorham Rd).  Go for 3 miles merging onto Rt.207 (Black Point Road), then make a left onto 77 (Spunwink Rd.)  In about 3.5 miles, bear right onto Bowery Beach Rd.  In 2.3 miles, turn right onto East Point Road.  Continue down the road, bearing left for 1.7 miles (do not go into the Park); the road will dead end at the dive site.

Twin Lights

We went here for an afternoon of free diving, and had lots of fun. I saw crab, lobster, stripper, starfish, and many other types of sea life. The restaurant is confidently located right next to the dive site too. Just put lobster shack into your gps and it will take you here.
