The next section of reef out from the shore in a clockwise pattern. This section is slightly deep and has some more rock formations covered in soft growth. Good place to see crabs and reef fish. Possible to see Octopus in their holes.

From shore on Tarifa. Use the beach on the Mediterranean side.

La Fortuleza

A deeper section of reef comprised of large rocks and soft coral growth in-between them. The layout means the current can be stronger here.

The further part of the reed that can be reached from shore. Also possible to dive by boat.

La Piscina is also known as La Piscinia.

La Piscina

A shallow section of the reefs around Tarifa. Dive is very shallow for a while before it deeps to a maximum of ten metres. Often used as a check dive. Variety of sea grass and various soft growth.

By shore from the Mediterranean side of Tarifa. Either surface swim for a bit or start the dive immediately in very shallow water.

The Cabin

Tarifa is Spain's southernmost spot and the only place where you can dive in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean the same day. Park your car on the access road to Tarifa Island and chose your dive spot according to wind and currents. 
Visibility is usually good, so bring along your camera.

From shore.

Wreck of San Andres, a steam iron structure, which sank in 1856 due to strong winds from the east. The real name of this ship was the "Miño", but among the divers this ship is best known as the San Andres because his remains had once among a huge lead ingots with these words engraved. There are some remains of the ship, the bow and the bridge, steam boilers and large wheels. Only for advanced divers. 

Aquatic Life: congers, brunettes, crab, lobsters, meros, sunfish, forkbeard

SE of Isla de Tarifa (La Palomas)

Pecio de San Andrés

Upon immersion you can see the relics of the boilers of a steam boat sunk just off the shore. If you go down to -20m to -25m you find some large boulders forming small caves you can dive through. Watch out four groupers, congers, electric rays, crabs, etc. Some harpooning going on, so if you're there on a bad day you may not see much life at all. Still a nice dive if you're in the area.

By boat. Only a short time from the harbour. 

Las Calderas

This side of Tarfia is dived less often due to wind and current. Similar growth but more dramatic rock formations. Eels, Octopus, Starfish and Rays live amongst the rocks.

By shore. Enter via the Mediterriean sides beach then turn back and use the bridge under the road. Walk in the shallow water till you reach the deeper part near the stone structure.

Another bareg in the Camp Bay area. This one is further out and requires a swim over the plain seabed before reaching it. A larger barge that is on its side. Some nice coral growth, as well as small fish life.

By shore with an experienced guide or by boat. Hard to navigate to.

Seahawk Wreck

Two wrecks side by side. The 482M was a cable laying vessel that sits beside a barge. Entering the water and turning left, three cables can be followed directly to the wreck. The side holds are open and swimthroughs are possible in various parts of the wrecks, including the engine room.

From shore. The nearby area at the top of the steps is ideal for kitting up.
