Nice barrier reef offshore of the Talamanca coast.  Its huge but overfished.

The best and easiest beach dive in Costa Rica. Classic coral reefs. If there are big waves forget it.

Part of Manzanillo Reefs. Just walk in to the water from the center of town and there is more sweet reef than you will see even if you dive it every day for a week.

Bloody Reef

The best beach dives in Costa Rica.  Classic coral reef right off the beach.  Shallow, bright, easy, colorful and diverse.  Bring the kids and grandma.

Manzanillo town reefs. Walk on from Manzanillo beach at the center of town.

Sugar Reef

Nice mini wall of dead coral.  Not much coral but the best chance to see a few big fish in the zone.

By boat Manzanillo is the closest point.

Monkey Island is also known as Punta Mona.

This is a spur and groove reef formation that fringes the shore. I have found nurse sharks in the sand channels between reef spurs. Lobster, octopus and pargo are often caught here. Inside the reef is great snorkeling.

From the beach, locate one of two boat channels near the Restaurante Yarisnori. Ask a local for help. Kick out of the channel and turn right or left, following the seaward side of the reef.

Boca del Drago

Playground is a 0-star rated scuba dive and snorkel destination in Panama, Bocas del Toro which is accessible from shore based on 0 ratings.

This sight is a patch reef adjacent to mangroves. Used by students of Institute of Tropical Ecology and Conservation (ITEC) for coral reef ecology studies.

Depths run from 1 meter or less in the mangroves to 18m where the reef slopes into the channel.

Boat access only. Check with local dive operator or charter for information.

Shollow underwater pinnacle attract a huge variety of fish.

Mellow dive with lots of reef fish, puffers and lots of lots of starfish!

Starfish Garden is also known as Isla Larga Norte.
