Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at North Cottesloe Reef
Visibility can vary from crystal clear to murky, depending on conditions. In the morning swimmers train over the reef and don't tend to look where they are going so keep an eye out. The area is popular with snorkellers, but not overcrowded. Where the reef breaks to sandy areas at the shore beachgoers are abundant.
Large limestone reef at one of Perth's most popular beaches. Just enter the water and the reef is right there.
The area can get busy, but is very safe with constant lifeguard prescence and shark spotting helicopters around. Watch out for stingers.
The reef has areas of seagrass, caves, ledges and sandy patches resulting in a variety of fish and other creatures to see.
North Cottesloe Reef is also known as Slimey's Reef.
