Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Plompetoren
From the parking you can go straight into the water. It is a bit of a climb on the slippery rocks, but is not hard. The sandy bottom is covered with rocks, which makes the life abundant and diverse. The slope goes down rather quick to about 30 meters. Lots of different nudibraches, anemones, big lobsters, a lot of crabs. Visibility is not always good, but it is a nice dive site. Be aware of the currents, you can only dive on the change of tides!!!
Plompetoren is on the Plompetorenweg along the Oosterschelde, between Schelphoek and Burghsluis. Drive along the mainroad N59 coming from Zierikzee in the direction of Middelburg. Follow directions Burghsluis and from Burghsluis drive east, the water on your right-hand side. You will see the big tower which is called Plompetoren and the parking here. From the parking, you can go straight into the water.

Visibility unpredictable, can be very good (up to 10 meters), but most of the time about 1 meter. Lots of beautiful things to see, though!!! Nice spot for experienced current-divers.
