Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Atlantis
From the aerial you can see how close you are to the rugged Eastern shore, so you'll probably see larger species of fish beginning here at Atlantis.

The entry could be tricky to find without the stones. Your GPS will take you within meters of this entrance
This area is puddled after a hard rain, but the hard-packed coral is perfect for parking.
Here, two divers hold hands until they get out to a sandy depth.

Easy entry and exit with sandy bottom before a small section of coral. Brief swim before drop-off at 25 ft. A lot of parrot fish, black durgeon, and chromis- several smooth trunkfish largish green moray- one queen angel fish. Sea fans in shallow create nurseries for fish. Saw 2 juvenile French angels.

My wife and I went by here to check out the entry and we didn't find divers but rather a ton of kite surfers flying through the air (maybe 35+ people around) and thus weren't able to dive it. Try to enter the water here and you will get killed by a kite boarder. I do suggest you come by and have a look as the kite boarding was awesome to watch. We were here on a Friday so maybe that was a kite boarding day. I don't really know. The entry and surf looked pretty easy so if it isn't busy with boarders you shouldn't have a problem. Very pretty beach/sandy area for the non-divers in your group.

Best dive of holiday as got to see a huge (well it looked huge to me!) turtle on sitting on the reef. Great wildlife and plant life, as well.

We drove south and scouted a number of spots to dive and stopped at Atlantis since the entry here was easier than what we could see at Pink Beach or White Slave. a very nice dive, with a moderate current running from south to north when we dove it. This was the southernmost dive we did on Bonaire, and this was the only site we saw the black crinoids with white tips. Return was brisk once we turned to swim with the current - it was really more of a drift dive at that point. Very healthy site.

Easy shore entry, medium length swim to reef. Reef is in good condtion. There was no dive buoy in Oct 2003. Lots of juvenile fish in the shallows. Good easy dive.
