Margate Bay

Lots of healthy soft corals. Saw many eels. Great visibility. Nice calm day. Easy in and out. Staghorn coral in the shallows with lots of school fish

Calm day. Easy entry. Mild current. Amazing visibility. Healthy coral. Lots of soft coral around 40-50ft. Hard coral below 50. Played with an Eagle Ray in the shallows!!!

The entry is a bit rugged, so help your buddy. Plenty of parking for the few who visit.

My first trip Bonaire. Amazing. Did shore dives at 23 different sites. Awesome dive. Turned out to be one of my favorites of the entire trip. Super easy entry and short surface swim. Saw largest jack I have seen yet, spotted eels, a free-swimming green moray, and more spotted drum.

We dived and snorkeled this site this year. Park by the side of the road, then walk through the shallow puddle by the mangroves. The entry is not difficult, despite a step-down of about a foot onto rocks that have urchins in the holes. Just watch your footing. There are a number of isolated coral heads in the shallows that are covered by brain and fire coral, whips, and sea fans. Lots of fish are around these areas. Staghorn coral is starting to regrow a bit further out towards the break. The reef slope has abundant coral cover and sponges, so is quite scenic. We saw a good number of the usual fish. This is a nice relaxing dive (despite a pretty stiff current the day we dived it), where you can use the mooring buoy as a reference on your return.

Pretty easy entry and exit with a short swim to the drop-off at 20ft. Abundant life and coral formation. Saw a couple of small eels on the way in, lots of rock beauties along the way and a few French angels. Great shore dive.

Great dive. Lots of soft coral in the shallows, so this would be a great snorkeling site. Saw a huge Green Moray and a large grouper.

Beach entry was a bit rugged, but if you take your time, you shouldn't have a problem. Shallows were filled with Stag horn coral - very beautiful. Some Barrel sponges in deeper water. Some cool sights: intermediate phase Rock Beauty, Long Snout Butterfly fish, and Golden Tail Moray Eel.

Great site! Fairly easy entry and exit. The way coral used to look--not badly damaged. Loads of fish and a giant moray eel!

This was one of our favorite dives because of the excellent condition, and variety of the reef and plants. There was no noticeable damage by storms or mankind. We had been directed to this site for that reason and went back a few times for the same reason.

This is another of our favorite shore dives. There is a lot of variety on this dive--lots of sponges, soft and hard corals, wide variety of fish. More black margate here than elsewhere (hey! I wonder if that's why it's named Margate Bay!!!). Lots of tarpon, barracuda, anemones, honeycomb cowfish, etc.

Lots of soft corals, some Elkhorn and Staghorn corals too. This was such a nice dive.

Awesome... Great reef, great aquatic life. Saw 4 turtles.
