Seal Rocks

You can either park in Wallis Sands, or here just around the bend. The entry is a bit tricky considering you'll have to climb down some rocks, and then make a rocky entry. Advanced divers will eat this up!

One hour parking limit and rather inaccessible at low tide. We tried to dive there today, but we came during low tide and while getting down to the water during high tide is already challenging, during low tide it requires a 100 yard climb over seaweed covered rocks. We picked another location further up in Maine for today. We will try again during high tide.

I just went here Sunday, July 5th. Parking was incredibly easy before 11am or so, but by the time we got out around 12:30, cars from Rye Beach had overrun the lot. Interesting place, though.

I dove this site this past fall. Not bad, interesting bottom topo and flora, not too many critters. It must be beautiful when in bloom. Watch your exit, though, if there's is a lot of wrack or surge, footing may be treacherous. Will dive again.
