Easy entry and exit. Easy access to double reef. Nice staghorn coral at swim out. Coral isn’t as nice as sites further south but a great dove nonetheless

The sandy spot in the background offers an easy entry. Since much of the coast line is similar, park your car in visible location for a visual landmark. See Hilma Hooker for the aerial shot of the site. The entrance to the site and entry to the water are meters apart!

The reef is very far from shore. Bottom is about 70'. The double reef is fantastic and the entry is very easy. The fish life was more varied here than angel city. We did this dive twice and really enjoyed the double reef; but, the reef at angel city is closer and better.

My first trip Bonaire. Amazing. Did shore dives at 23 different sites. This was one of the better 'double reef' dives although Angel City was my favorite by far. I did not have any problems with orientation as the two reefs are segregated. The outer reef is more active and enjoyable the inner.

Easy swim to marker and then from there to outer reef. Minimal north current. Good vis out on Both reefs. Couple of large lion fish at 80 on outer reef. Did not have our spear! Inner reef was teaming with fish and coral heads. A good dive all around.

An excellent dive site. Unfortunately a long kick out to the reef. With the storm a couple of years ago, not much to see until you get to the drop off. Then a nice dive with a double reef system. Saw barracuda and scorpion fish. The second reef is in great condition.

We tried diving here twice prior to this year & each time had to abandon due to strong current..3rd time lucky they say & it's right. This is a beautiful site, lots going on the reef. Lots of healthy looking coral & loads of colourful fish. We saw a lovely southern sting ray gliding over the top of the outer reef. Would recommend you try this site. If the current is strong try again either later on same day or following day, it's well worth it.

This is the other site that we first dived this trip and it rates as one of our favorites. Park by the white wall and walk to the beach and enter where marked; this entry is north of the mooring buoy. Entry is fairly easy with a small step onto a few broken rocks. This site is at the top (north) end of the double reef system, so we swam straight out to the outer reef which has lots of healthy brain, star, and finger corals. This area is very scenic. You can see across the sand channel between the two reefs, so it is easy to cross back to the inner reef and return to your entry spot. The inner reef is also in good shape, with plenty of the usual fish. Check for garden eels, small morays, and regrowing staghorn coral in the shallows.

The entry by car to the beach is bad; don't try this, but park the car next to the fence of the villa next door and walk a few meters. If you have enough air and you swim out to the left you might even make it to the Hilma Hooker ( ext wreck dive site), as we did !!

Easy entry and shore dive, but a long swim to the drop-off. Watch the sand on the swim out for rays. We saw a sea horse around 30'. Nice Site!!

Very easy entry, with a good swim out to the reef. Pay attention to the sand as you may see rays and flounder on the swim out. Lots of fish life.

Park right by the water and make your way in over small rocks and coral rubble to the sandy bottom then swim to the drop off. We visited the garden eels in the sand channel between this double reef system at 80ft then we slowly made our way up to the shallows. No current, 75ft+ viz, and plenty of life make this a great spot! This site is next to several other sites including the Hilma Hooker wreck. Very convenient location for a multiple dive day. As always, take a minute to plan your entry because even small rocks and rubble can ruin your day if they cause you to slip or fall on an urchin! Is it possible to dive in Bonaire and not see a spotted drum? I guess not!

Went to this site because it was recommended as an easy entry. The entry is pretty easy but you do have to watch out for the many spiny urchins. The ramp down from the road was impassable so we drove down to the Hilma Hooker site and then back up to The Lake below the road-- no problem. This probably helped make it so deserted, we never saw anyone else there. This was our favorite site on Bonaire, we dove it about 5 times in one week, twice at night. The double reef system is so beautiful here and the life so plentiful and varied we couldn't get enough of it. We saw lots of flounder, mostly peacocks, and several types of sea cucumbers, basket stars, needlefish, rockfish, many eels, Spanish lobsters, and the list goes on forever. Visibility was great and there is lots of life in the shallows to see while taking your safety stop.

We really like this dive. Did it several times. The inner reef isn't nearly as pretty or interesting as the outer reef. This is a great place to see Garden Eels at only 80' depth. Reviewing my dive log, it appears that most of my enjoyment of this dive was because it is so pretty.

Entry and exit were slightly more difficult here due to the abundance of sea urchins that cover the rocky shoreline. Surf was up just enough to keep you a little off balanced. Still it was certainly worth the effort. The reef was incredible. We saw a giant lobster, lizardfish, a scorpion fish and several sharp tail eels. I saw my first Flamingos Tongue on the way out.

Pre-Lenny. Corals healthy, lots of tangs, snappers. Double reef system means more to see. Most people seem to dive the site next door, the Hilma Hooker. It makes The Lake a great ignored location.
