Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Brooks Cove (Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park)
Brooks Cove is for the more advanced diver. You'll have quite the swim to get to the prime diving spots, but the effort will be worth it. With depths to over 100 feet, the water clarity will be spectacular!
At 1.3km North of Halfmoon Bay, turn left onto Brooks Road, and follow the signs to Smuggler Cove.

Take your time swimming on the surface to the point on the left, enjoying the scenery and sea birds. After a short rest, drop down. You may want to try a kayak dive at this site.
Don't stop at this sign which marks the trail-side parking, but keep going a short distance more to the end of the road.

My wife and I tried to dive this site. It's a really long swim, I'd guess 4-500 meters. It's not a real pleasant either since many homes on the bluff discharge (presumably sewage) via pipes into this bay - yuck. The combination means - don't waste your time/air/money/energy here. The reef may be great, if you can get there…
