Plenty of beach for the kids-- plenty of coral cliff walls for the divers. Your entry to explore the right cliff area. It will take you a few minutes to kick-out, so take your time, pause to enjoy the scenery and rest; watch the current, discuss your dive plan, and enjoy!

We dived here several times one year ago and came back because we like that relaxed, rather quiet, non-commercialized beach with nice shady pavilions and some wooden table-benches sets. Enough parking space with some shady places. Beach loungers, toilets, and cold freshwater showers available and clean, because you pay a little amount for its use. Scuba diving might be interesting in the shallow bay, too, but if you want to get to the sloping reef, you have to swim: 5 min. on the left side of the bay, 10 - 15 min. on the right side. On the left, we discovered 2 big stonefishes, a locus lobster (scyllarides latus, very rare!) and lots of surgeons. On the right, we found a huge crayfish on the sand near the reef, and a very rich reef garden with lots of different reef fish. Visibility near the beach good if no waves, outside the bay, on the reef, the visibility is always super. By the way, the beach and the bay are clean. We found one squeezed beer can in the bay, nothing else.

I finally made the trip to dive here (as I live right around the corner at Coral Estates). I was pleasantly surprised to find the reef conditions as they are and some unique reef life. Swim out is not bad, (but farther than some). I snorkeled on the way out and enjoyed the rock formations. I stayed to the left heading out. Will dive here again. Decent little beach too.

Snorkeled here on two occasions in July, 2012. Fairly easy entry, although like most sites in Curacao there is a section of broken coral to navigate upon entering the water. Calm water. Some sections of healthy coral along both sides of the cove. Sea life of note included 2 spotted Eagle Rays, sea snakes, eels, and one very aggressive barracuda.

It is a nice dive if you can handle the kick out to the reef. If you're interested in patch reef and sand flats as well as the reef proper, this is probably one of the better dives for that. There are a few fish species here that I haven't seen anywhere else in Curacao. Also a decent place for seeing Caribbean reef squid - on one outing here I ran into a school of thumb-sized babies, maybe 50 strong. Adorable! If you swim straight out it's pretty much sand flat and patch reef until the drop-off, but if you head off to the right somewhat you'll see some areas of very nice, shallow, flat reef as well. That seems to be a good spot for seeing the occasional turtle, and would be a really nice spot for a snorkel if it weren't so far from shore.

A long swim to the reef can make this dive unappealing to some, but there are a lot of juveniles in the shallows that can make that swim worthwhile. Site is spoiled somewhat from the excessive amount of trash in the water.

Free site, Showers, bathrooms and food were closed. Dive shop near entrance. Decent parking and shade. A VERY long swim to reef/drop-off. 10+ min. swim. Small cove entry area and beach. A small boat is sunk in the bay on the east side in about 15 ft. of water. Decent snorkeling site well protected. Other good sites have shorter swim to reef.

Very easy shoredive. Plenty of parking. Maybe not as nice as Porto Marie, but it's not as crowded. The reef was excellent with lots of soft and hard corals. Saw very large schools of small fish being attacked and eaten by pretty good sized Jacks. That was pretty cool to watch for a while. Also a large sting ray. Sometime I wonder just how big some of the stuff I see underwater actually is… I know the mask magnifies things a bit, but my guess is the sting ray must have been about six feet to the tip of it's tail. This was a nice beach to relax at after the dive. The guy that runs the concession stand makes excellent fries and has ice cold Amstel. Always a plus at the end of a good day of diving.

The swim out was long and arduous. Not that exciting of a reef compared to the other dives on the island. Animal life was sparse and the plant life was dull. Not worth the trip if on a limited time frame. Porto Marie near by is much better.

Yes, a bit of a haul on the surface but really well worth it. A fabulous wall, lots of fish dramas (defensive ball of chromis against hungry jacks; soapfish chows down on large chromis, rock hind tries to steal it and loses the tug-of-war). Great dive, but I shouldn't be telling you this!
