"Aries", a freighter of 47 meters of length and 392 tons of gross registry, was constructed in 1946 in reconstructed Santander and in 1974 in the coruñeses shipyards "Jose Valiña Lavandeira". In his last years on watch it belonged to the company "Exmar" with primary port in A Corunna, and made a line between several ports of Galicia and Morocco transporting wood in his outward journeys and load of diverse nature to the return. It returned from Casablanca in his last trip, and made the stop at the port of Pulley (Almeria) to load 500 tons of marble crushed with destiny to the port of A Pobra do Caramiñal. Their crew composed 7 sailors of Eases, Corme and Camelle, with ages between the 17 and 58 years, and a called dog "Johnson". At dawn of the 7 of December of 1977, the "Aries" reached the entrance of laughs it of Arousa in adverse metereológicas conditions, that had forced to moor the fishing fleet of Ribeira. According to it was known later, arose some problem with the rudder from the boat that impeded its maneuver. This, added to the little visibility and badly sea disturbance, caused that, on the 6 of the dawn, the merchant went without control towards "Ace Lobeiras" colliding of inevitable form with them. Before the collapse, that took place in few minutes, the crew could signalize her position with flares and flood a life raft. Half an hour after the collision, the fishing boat of Ribeira "San Ramon" reached the zone of the shipwreck and came to rescue the shipwrecks. Fortunately human losses were not registered, being saved even the mascot. The Galician newspapers of the time became echo of the news. At the moment the "Aries" rest on a sand bottom in the proximities of the Island of Rúa (42º33.773´N 8º56.836´W), to a Maxima depth of 21 meters, in an acceptable state of conservation. He is pecio more accessible, visited and known it laughs it of Arousa and one is colonized by abundant sésil fauna serving from refuge to multiple species animals.
