Without a doubt this is the Best Snorkeling site in Curacao that we discovered in our 2 trips to the Island. The journey to the site is an adventure in of itself. The dirt road is easy to miss off the main road - long and bumpy - but navigable even in a sub-compact car if you drive slowly. Don't be scared of the 'toll collector' at the abandoned mansion. 5 Guilders gets you in. We went in August 2010 on a weekday and there was only one other couple (divers) on the whole stretch of beach. It is very isolated and we had some fears based on review in 2007 of an armed robbery, but we saw nobody around looking for trouble and we never lock our doors, leave valuables, carry large amounts of cash or sport fancy watches or jewelry. Just beautiful snorkeling. A little tricky getting in and out with coral and rocks, but well worth it. Go 3/4 to the West End of beach (right) and look for boat small buoy (Clorox bottle). This is probably where diving boats tie up, and for good reason as you will see. Booties are a must!
