Snorkeling and Scuba Diving at Norman's Woe

If you can't tell from the pictures, this is an advanced dive! But if you are up for the 200 yard hike, and a crawl down the rocks into a precarious entry, you'll love this dive. Plenty of lobster and other critters will surround you. We'd definitely recommend a guide for your first trip here. At the end of SR 128 in Cape Ann, turn right on SR 127A (Cross Street), and then bear left onto SR 127 South. In 1.3 miles, you will cross a bridge. In another 1.5 miles, turn left onto Hesperus Ave. In 1.4 miles, parking will be at a fenced area on your left..

This is pretty much how the whole trail is out to the rocks. It's an easy walk to get out to the rocks. You may want to consider bringing an equipment cart. There's room here for about 6 cars, but it generally is not crowded.

Definitely an advanced dive, but well worth. The giant stride entry from 3-5 foot rocks! Great scenery.

This site combines the best & worst factors. Tough parking (local cops love to tow divers' cars), 1/4 mile hike to the site (sucks), dangerously rocky landscape (scary), big waves (can really scratch you up so don't swim nor snorkel without a thick suit). But underwater scenery & life forms are amazing. Was it worth it? Can't decide. Will I do it again this season? Probably not; hate the hike, hate the parking issue......

I'd dive here more often if it weren't for the hellish hike! 1/4 mile with all of your gear just isn't appealing! And then there are the dozens of fishermen who frequent this spot. Watch out for the fishing lines! Entry is intimidating - a giant stride about 3 feet up at high tide. Exit even harder. But it is a pretty dive and worth it if you're up to the task. Top side is very pretty too! Check it out for the photo opportunities if nothing else!

If you're not in pretty good shape then leave this dive off your list. A good 300-400 yard hike from the parking spot to the dive entry. The entry is tricky at either high or low tide, and the same applies to the exit. Advanced is a good way to describe this location.
